The Oman Cycling Association has been established in line with the special attention that His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has given to the sports sector in Oman. It reflects His Majesty’s keen interest in the international approach of developing people through actively engaging them in sports. It also underscores the Sultanate’s strategy towards sports and its goal in fulfilling the country’s vision–towards a sports society. This is accomplished by building and advancing a healthy sports community. The Oman Cycling Association has shown its interest and compliance with the general organizational rules and trends of this sport by becoming a member in various associations: such as the International Cycling Association (ICA), the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), the Arab Cycling Federation (ACF) and the Gulf Federation. The objectives of these associations are:
- To develop the sport at the national level.
- To promote sports ethics, values, and spirit, and to fight doping.
- To effectively participate in activities that aim at achieving social harmony and protecting the environment.
To be the top performers in the GCC Championship in the next five years.
